People who provide Inspirational business service often unwittingly reward those who deserve it most. Such was the case when Metrolink bus driver Nomeneta Tuaitau found a wallet belonging to David Procter and went to extra lengths to return it to him, as Mr Procter explains: "I was on holiday in Auckland when I lost my wallet while travelling on a Metrolink bus. Nomeneta, a driver, found it and tracked me down to where I was staying. On finding I was a visitor to New Zealand he then drove from his home in Avondale to Mission Bay to reunite me with my wallet, cash and cards. He asked for no reward. What a hero. He saved my holiday and was just an honest, kind man. I am extremely grateful for his awesome actions and he deserves an awesome service award." Postscript by the Awesome Service Award Administrators: In undertaking due diligence related to Mr Procter's nomination of Nomeneta Tuaitau for an award it became apparent that Mr Procter was not "on holiday" in New Zealand, but had flown from the United Kingdom to help a life-long friend in considerable need. A Good Samaritan himself, Mr Procter disclosed that the loss of his wallet would have caused him extreme stress and diverted his already depleted energies away from helping his distressed friend. In the event Mr Tuaitua found the wallet before Mr Procter knew he had lost it, and drove across Auckland to return it to him. Congratulations to Nomeneta Tuaitau of Metrolink buses: A worthy winner of an ASB Awesome Service Award. http://www.metrolinkbus.co.nz | ||
