Dealing with complaints or mistakes is a measure of good customer service. Righting a mistake, when the customer is already very happy, however, shows an absolute commitment to customer service...and a great deal of honesty. Customer Gary Menzies explains: "I had been to Papa's Pizzas several times and enjoyed great service before deciding to celebrate my son's graduation in their function room. The night of the celebration was a great success with the guests commenting on the quality of the food and the service. There were a number of guests who were usually pretty fussy about these things, so it was very pleasing to know everyone had a very enjoyable time. At the end of the night when it came to paying the bill I did think that the drinks bill may have been a bit steep but my son in-law who does a lot of corporate entertaining assured me it was quite reasonable, so a great night was had by all. The next day I received a call on my cell phone and to my surprise it was Gail the owner of Papas, telling me that I had been overcharged for the drinks and I had a $540 refund. She explained they had a new junior barman serving at the function and he had accidently charged each glass as a bottle. I was flabbergasted as, in this day and age regretfully, I cannot think of many businesses that would return this substantial amount of money to an already satisfied customer.
