Here's what Ray Goldring had to say:
"We have a rental property in Christchurch at Stable Court Lane which is physically lower than the surrounding properties and therefore needs to have a holding tank and pump to push our sewerage up into the city sewer system.
We were in town for a week staying at the property when we noticed that the sewer pump had stopped working and raw sewerage was pouring onto the property.
We contacted Barry through an old business card and he came round within an hour of us ringing. He analysed the problem - a new pump - the old one, (over 30 years old) had filled with fluid, and given up the ghost.
Barry started to find out if he could get another of this type of pump but to no avail. He left for lunch and said he would try and source a suitable unit.
We had to leave the property for a meeting for a couple of hours. Upon our return Barry was still there and had just completed the repairs.
During our absence he had removed the old pump, and rewired and installed a new one - during which he got soaked in a heavy shower of rain. We think Barry gave us awesome service.
Not only did he have to deal with a full sewerage tank and all the gunge that implies, but he spent considerable time sourcing the RIGHT pump and not just any unit as suggested by the various sales-pitches.
What's more, we were expecting to have to pay over $2000 for a new pump but only had to pay $1200. Not only did he do a great job, but in realizing that there were six tenants relying on a functioning septic system, he pulled out all stops to get it functioning again. We think Barry Jones delivered awesome service and deserves an MYOB Awesome Service Award."
